my sister Jen's twins, born last night at 1:04 and 1:16 am (baby a from ultrasound emerged first naturally), 2 months premature but mom & babies doing fine...

What am I going to do about the basement? So much water! Where does it come from? (hopefully the aluminum foil/duct tape thing actually works). A/V are covering, um, A/V in Hell tonight...

tara says: there are now three Sloan university shows to sneak in to: Sept 18 - Sackville, Sept 19 - Fredricton, Sept 22 - Antigonish, (sigh) just like the old days... and Dan's got a play at the fringe festival next week (he's calling in "Irene's Eventual Employment, a screwball comedy & socialist musical"), I'll be going Friday night the 29th at 10pm in case anyone wants to make a night of it ... and September also means that this man will be in town to bum rides from unsuspecting film fest patrons...

so no one told me that the sixes & sevens were playing wednesday night! and I missed the yellow jacket avenger / woodenstars hybrid at bella muse Thursday night (would have been much too late as I guess things didn't wrap up until after 2am) , & everyone who can should go to the rock camp tv taping (well why not?) but I didn't miss this (at the liquor dome no less) ? mike said that we'd all be searched at the door so I didn't manage to get any pictures of the drummer twirling his hair around & bashing the cymbals with his head or the couple making out to the bass solo... here are a few pictures of the waterfront Thursday night when we inadvertantly discovered that the much dreaded busker festival was not quite over after all (the impromptu motorcycle rally is nothing out of the ordinary)...

The annual Melvin clan family picnic (tartan above) is tomorrow at the old homestead in Chezzetcook (the house itself was abandoned years ago & and remains, partially tumbled in on itself, at the back of the property) ... tonight it's joel plaskett at the marquee if I can stand it and am not too tuckered out by inventory...

look what happened in the south end today (just a few blocks from work, everyone was evacuated up to the edge of our store parking lot ie. right in front of Tim Horton's- a convenient place for a police blockade) ... we were on our way back from Jen's ultrasound (the twins are now 2.4 & 2.5lbs each) and heard sirens so we thought it must have been something fairly big for the HRM police to get involved.

I really wasn't aware that this type of market research existed, I just wish I had been consulted about the "things that look like spurts of blood" on the (for human use) packaging of Coumadin
