there's too much going on in Hali this weekend: Saturday - Axes vs. Beatboxes at Rod & Tara's (death metal vs. matt reid ), going away party for Dr. Sauce (yay PhD Kevin!) at the Granite; Sunday: Tim Robbins Experience (apparently the closest thing to a thrush hermit reunion) at khyber... & it's Marni's last week in town as well ... at least the lawn is done (although the earwigs have taken over the mailbox again)

nyc: friday night (malkmus love-in brooklyn, me & miles at lit, compulsive apologies were delivered to: daniel of interpol)

saturday: coney island at siren : (the kills, the beach, radio 4, the cyclone, trying to see modest mouse, idlewild), the kids were playing hipster bingo in the subway car on the way back in to manhattan and managed to fill the whole card (although I can only wish I'd had a trucker hat, I was so horribly burned) :

sunday: (columbian food in queens, in honour of "columbian day" with pat, mike & alison )

monday: (ellis island, arlene grocery punk rock karaoke, hi-fi in the rain on avenue a):

heading to nyc for 4 days of debauchery (well probably not, maybe some rollerskating?)... apparently the white stripes have post-poned dates until furthur notice (had Monday night tickets), which means I'm out of luck this time around ... I'll still be hopefully seeing the lovely stephen malkmus and sirenfest if I don't get lost too badly ... and against my better judgement I am staying across the street from CBGB's again (nasty result last year but at least I know where it is) and moving to chelsea centre east for the last 3 nights... will be back Tuesday...
